This year, the Early Research Initiative (ERI) with the support of the Provost’s Office has offered $4,000 summer awards to level II and III doctoral students whose research necessitates archival work.
Jennah Thompson-Vasquez and Nikhil Ramachandran received the Early Research Initiative Knickerbocker Award for Archival Research in American Studies designed to support doctoral students whose projects necessitate work in archives, repositories, and special collections (public and private).
Nicholas Welna and Scott Ferrara received the Early Research Initiative Award for Archival Research in African American and African Diaspora Studies designed to support doctoral students for work in archives, repositories, and special collections (public and private) that focuses directly on the history, society, and culture of Africans and persons of African descent.
