On February 13th 2026, Ph.D. candidate in cultural anthropology Zeynep Ozbarlas successfully defended her dissertation titled “New Age Spirituality in Post-Secular Turkey: Navigating Secular Sensibilities and Class Privilege.”

Her advisor, Prof. Omri Elisha, and the Graduate Center PhD Anthropology Program wish Dr. Ozbarlas some well-deserved rest and success in all her future endeavors!
