China Sajadian (Ph.D. ’22) has joined Vassar College as an assistant professor of anthropology.

Her current book project, Debts of Displacement, draws from nearly two years of fieldwork at the Lebanese-Syrian border, examining how debt shapes agrarian labor mobility.

Before joining Vassar, she was the Eveillard Postdoctoral Fellow at Smith College, with research supported by the Mellon/American Council of Learned Societies and the National Science Foundation, among others.
