On August 27, Ph.D. candidate in cultural anthropology Jadele Mcpherson successfully defended her dissertation titled “Vamos a Vencer: The Sonic Performances of Afro-Cubans in Tampa.”

Her advisor Prof. Alyshia Gàlvez and the GC PhD Anthropology program wish Dr. Mcpherson some well deserved rest and success in all her future endeavors!
