Erik Forman at the Dissertation Showcase

Our own Erik Forman who successfully defended his dissertation in March 2025 is a finalist of the 8th Annual Dissertation Showcase. The event will take place at the GC Elebash Recital Hall on May 13 at 6:30 PM and will also be broadcast live on Zoom.

Doctoral candidates from all disciplines defending between June 1, 2024 and May 10, 2025 were invited to apply by March 23.

Twelve of them will take the stage to share their research in a fun, fast-paced, TED Talk-style format — 3 minute presentation.

They have received individual coaching and rehearsed the evening together.

The Presidential Prize for Public Communication ($1,500) will be given to the student who does the best job translating his or her research for the public, chosen by a panel of judges. Viewers will also decide on the Audience Choice Award ($1,500) by voting for their favorite presentation.

Dr. Forman will present his dissertation titled “Killer App: Uber, Worker Ownership, and the Future of Capitalism.” Join us in supporting him!
