How to create a post in the Anthro Commons

If you have recently received an award, grant or scholarship, or if you want to share an upcoming event or update concerning the anthropology department/program, please create a post that will appear on the homepage of our website.

It is very easy, you simply have to follow these few steps:

1. Log into the CUNY Academic Commons with your GC email address
2. Once on your profile page, click on “Sites” and choose “Anthropology PhD Program Commons”
3. In the black upper menu bar, hover over “Anthropology PhD Program Commons” and click on “Dashboard”
4. In the left side menu, hover over “Posts” and choose “Add New Post”
5. Give a (short) title to your post and type the text of your post in the following block
6. In the post settings (right column), click on “Set featured image” and upload a picture to illustrate your post
7. Choose one or several categories among Alumni News, Events, Program Updates, and Student News
8. Choose one or several tags (for example, “colloquium series,” “book talk,” “awards and grants,” “publications,” “biological anthropology,” etc.)

NOTE: Whether you already have a CUNY Academic Commons account or not, you should have received an invitation to join the Anthropology Commons as Author. The Author status allows you to create, edit and publish your own posts.
